Real Witches: How I Use My Crystals
I LOVE crystals! I always have. I used to collect them as a child and still do today. While I was born on the coast of North Carolina, my family moved to the mountains of NC when I was 5. I grew up hiking and playing in the woods on the Appalachian Mountains which are full of quartz and all sorts of other natural resources. I had a whole Caboodle full of crystals I found as a kid (which my mom brought me recently HA!).
Crystals have all sorts of uses and properties in which to use them for. I am not going to cover what the metaphysical properties are of any crystals because there is a wealth of information available in books and online, but I am going to share some of the ways in which I use crystals in my everyday life…. This is for sure the one time I am most annoyed my blog doesn’t have an option for me to add in my personal photos so you can see my crystal collection, but if you are on TikTok you can find a video under the ‘Real Witches’ playlist to show you around my home full of crystals!
on my cup: I like to set crystals with specific intentions I am currently working with on top of the lid of my water cup setting the intention that the water is infused with the properties of the crystals
on my alters: this is pretty obvious for people who practice, but maybe not for others. My healing, ancestor and working alters (which you do not need all of these! this is just my practice) all have an assortment of crystals that I use for myself and as offerings
fairy garden: inside and outside I have a place for my house and land fae to congregate full of crystals as fun offerings for their support and protection of our home and property
as home decor: I have larger crystals sitting on my built-ins with my other decor, sitting on my coffee table on my coffee table books, on my bedside table and more
as an energetic grid around my house: I have some extra large pieces of quartz that my mom found landscaping in the mountains set up around the outside of my house in a grid pattern to provide energetic protection and amplification
in my purse or bra: I carry crystals in my purse or in my bra if I feel like I need a little something extra one day
in my kids rooms: my kids LOVE to collect crystals too so I have a desert plate on each of their beside tables and a small tray on their dressers where they can pile their crystals they find in the woods and snag at the metaphysical shop when they go with me
on top of my door frames: I have selenite sticks above my most used entry ways to clear energy as people come in and out of my house
in my car: I have quartz sitting in my car to help amplify the energies of Mother Earth and protect us. Along with a hag stone- not a crystal, but super helpful nonetheless!
in potted plants: I add quartz into potted plants to bring in the “braincells” of Mother Earth
